Reading fire LIVE: Builder trapped on tower block as blaze rips through building | UK | News

A builder has been rescued from a terrifying tower block blaze in Reading.

A video shows the dramatic moment the man was winched to safety by a crane in the town centre, after the Station Development building was engulfed by smoke and flames this morning (Thursday, November 23).

Firefighters are currently at the scene, with people in the neighbouring building evacuated.

One witness said: « This looks like quite a serious fire next to Reading Station at the former Foster Wheeler building. »

Another claimed the fire was raging with « 20 foot high flames ».
