Hero nanny of Harry Kane’s children praised for ‘averting disaster’ after ‘serious crash’ | Football | Sport
The nanny of Harry Kane’s children has been hailed as a hero for ‘averting disaster’ during a three-car crash in Germany. Kane’s kids were said to have been involved in a ‘serious’ accident which resulted in them being taken to hospital.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon near Schaftlarn, a municipality south of Munich. It came as Kane was in London prepping for Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final with Arsenal.
According to The Sun, three different cars were involved in the accident, with Kane’s three kids in a Mercedes van, driven by the children’s nanny. It’s said the ‘quick-thinking’ of the nanny prevented any serious damage from being caused, as they brought the Mercedes to a calm stop after being hit on the road, while avoiding the other vehicle involved.
As a result, the nanny has been praised for their actions, with a source close to The Sun saying: “The Kane’s nanny did an incredible job of protecting the children. None of this is her fault. She might be on German roads, but she had right-of-way. It was the German driver who cut across her path and smashed into her. She would only have had milliseconds to react.
“You can see from the pictures it was a serious smash, but the Kane children would have felt nothing other than a bang. She really has averted disaster.”
All eight people caught up in the incident were said to have been taken to hospital, but nobody picked up any serious injuries. Kane is believed to have been informed about the car crash on Monday evening, but stuck around with the Bayern squad for their last-eight clash against the Gunners.
It didn’t appear to impact the England captain, who shone for the current German champions during the 2-2 draw. Netting from the spot during the first half, Kane led the line well for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who will enter Wednesday’s second leg confident of progression to the semi-finals.
Kane and Bayern will be keen to get one over on Arsenal, not only to keep alive hopes of a seventh European Cup win, but also because the Champions League represents their last chance of silverware this season. By the time the second leg rolls around, Bayer Leverkusen may have already been crowned Bundesliga winners, meaning Kane is now at serious risk of going trophyless during his first season in Germany.
