A woman in her 60s has suffered horrifying life-changing injuries after an earlier crash on the A1(M).

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police told Express.co.uk: 

« Police were called around 11.21am today (Wednesday 3 April), following reports of an incident on the A1(M).

« It is reported that a woman, for reasons unknown at this time, fell from a moving vehicle.

« Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the ambulance and air ambulance.

« Road closures were put in place on the southbound carriageway between Junction 9 (Letchworth Gate) and 8 (Stevenage North) to allow emergency services to attend, which have now all been lifted.

« The woman, aged in her sixties, was taken to hospital via land with injuries currently described as life-changing.

« Anyone with information is asked to please call 101, quoting ISR 261 of April 3, 2024. »
