Nigel Farage’s quiet life in historic village where average homes fetch £653,000

The 59-year-old, who is the co-founder of Reform UK, could be joining the likes of This Morning‘s Josie Gibson and First Dates’ Fred Sirieix.

The line-up was revealed by The Sun but has not yet been confirmed by ITV.

Farage could be following in the footsteps of former health secretary and political figure Matt Hancock who appeared on I’m A Celeb last year.

The former UKIP chairman was born in Farnborough, Kent and attended grammar schools in West Wickham and then Eden Park.

He was later educated at the esteemed private school Dulwich College whose former pupils include author P. G. Wodehouse and actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Farage hasn’t strayed far from his roots in Kent, settling in Downe in Greater London.

Downe is located in the London Borough of Bromley and is where Farage reportedly has a family home.

The idyllic village is just 14 miles away from Charing Cross and just a few miles away from Orpington and is famous for being the former home of Charles Darwin.

Darwin lived in Down House for 40 years and is where he worked on his theory of evolution.

The village is located on the North Downs and used to be a part of Kent.

Farage’s local pub is George & Dragon which is said to be located four miles from the politician’s home.

Being in such close proximity to central London and with such an incredible history, it’s not surprising that properties in Downe had an overall average price of £653,125 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Downe during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £782,500.

Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £612,500, with terraced properties fetching £435,000.

Overall, sold prices in Downe over the last year were 26 percent down on the previous year and 16 percent down on the 2015 peak of £776,675.
