How to dry clothes quickly indoors without a tumble dryer – save money on laundry

It can be frustrating drying clothes during the colder months as they can take hours to dry properly indoors while being very expensive to put in the tumble dryer.

It has been estimated that drying clothes in the tumble dryer costs Brits around £1.26 per laundry cycle, which can add an extra £131 to your yearly energy bills if you just use a dryer only twice a week.

Not only that, but clothes can be left smelling musty and unpleasant when left in a tumble dryer too long even if they have just been freshly cleaned.

However, there is a simple “laundry hack” that dries clothes faster indoors, and it does not involve a tumble dryer or a dehumidifier.

How to dry clothes quickly without a tumble dryer or a dehumidifier

In a video online, the expert said: “Why hasn’t anyone been talking about this hack to air-dry clothes faster?”

All you need to do is take a piece of clothing out of the washing machine and place it on a clean and dry towel.

Roll up the towel with the clothing still inside, then twist the towel to wring out any excess moisture out of the clothing.

Then, pat down the folded towel with the clothing still wrapped inside, and make sure to firmly press on the towel to make sure all the moisture is wrung out.

Unroll the towel and your clothing piece will now mostly be dry. Hang it up and it will completely dry off quickly.

This will reduce the drying time to only a few hours, meaning you can have a freshly washed outfit the same day without having to put it in the dryer.

You can even use a hair dryer to quickly dry off the piece of clothing if you need to save even more time.
