Former Eintracht and Wolfsburg boss Glasner is the favourite to take over should a change be made. However, it is believed that Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna also has admirers among Palace chiefs.

Prising McKenna from Ipswich would require a substantial compensation fee. The Championship side are fourth in the table and have enjoyed an excellent return to the second tier under the former Manchester United assistant.

Glasner is understood to have held talks with Parish, shareholder John Textor and sporting director Dougie Freedman. The Austrian, 49, led Eintracht to a shock Europa League success in 2022-23 and guided Wolfsburg to fourth in the Bundesliga in his second campaign.

He left Eintracht last summer and was linked with the Tottenham job before the north Londoners appointed Ange Postecoglou.
