F1 LIVE: Christian Horner ‘advised to resign’ by Red Bull as rival team boss speaks out | F1 | Sport

Red Bull design guru Adrian Newey ‘does not know’ whether he and his team have done the right thing by sticking with a version of last season’s car, rather than pursuing something drastically different.

Max Verstappen was absolutely dominant in 2023, with he and Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez picking up all bar one available Grand Prix wins between them.

Red Bull’s RB20 is set to be unveiled next week.

« Our car, it’s very much a third evolution of the 2022 car, » Newey said on the Talking Bull podcast. « Last year’s car was an evolution of ’22 in its main points being of course, the normal winter development in terms of aerodynamics, some understanding on what we needed to do with suspension to try to improve the car as well, and getting weight out of it, because we never got down to the weight limit in ’22.

« This year’s car is the third evolution of that original RB18. What we don’t know, of course, is the third evolution too conservative, while others have done something different? You just don’t know. »
