FICAM  is an initiative of a youth association known as “Jeunesse Unie et Solidaire D’Afrique”, ( JUSA) in collaboration with the Ministries of Trade, Youth and Sports, Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, and the Economy Planning and Regional Development.

The Exhibitions

The Made in Cameroon showcase comes at a time when the prices of imported products have surged on the international market owing to the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

The price of imported products like wheat flour, rice, fertilizers and  cosmetic products have gone up drastically.

Business has become a nightmare for bakers, and farmers are unable to afford fertilizers. The situation is not better for business people who have to deal with the challenge of selling introducing new prices.

In order to contain the price hikes, Cameroon’s government has embarked on encouraging Cameroonians to prioritize Made in Cameroon products.

During a recent press conference, the country’s Trade Minister, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana told Cameroonians to adjust feeding habits and reduce dependence on imported products.

The fair will has also been organized to help entrepreneurs innovate, improve their products and increase sales of local products.

Exhibitions will cut across various sectors, including the Agro -food industry, banks, insurance companies, and micro finance structures, culture and handicrafts, tourism and leisure, government institutions, housing, urban development and decoration, fashion design, cosmetics and esthetics, ICT, transport and Logistic, and culinary Arts.

Business exchanges, conferences, workshops in Digital Marketing, Digital Communication, E-commerce, technological innovation, and tips on  making money on Facebook are also on schedule.
