One of Cameroon’s all-round mascot, Ngando Pickett remains one of the main attractions at the CHAN 2020.
From the opening game in Yaounde, the celebrated Indomitable Lions and Lionesses of Cameroon’s mascot has been visiting the other host cities, adding some effervescence to the matches, and thrilling fans and the foreign delegations with his painted body and musical displays.
His arrival at the Bepanda Reunification Stadium minutes into the Morocco-Togo group C opener, Monday January 18, was electrifying. With his body painted with colours of the Cameroon national flag, and spectacular dance style, Ngando stole the show.
Although team Cameroon is lodged in Group A in Yaounde, the celebrated Indomitable Lions and Lionesses of Cameroon mascot, Henry Mouyebe, aka Ngando, has been touring the other sites to add ceremonial splendour to each encounter of this sixth edition of CHAN.
Apart from this, Ngando Pickett says the infrastructure hosting the tournament like the Japoma stadium and others are mind-blowing, and worth celebrating.
The father of two girls who hails from the littoral region, and has spent over four decades of his 63 years as a dedicated football fan thrilled members of foreign delegations with his performance.
Ngando who has so far attended eighteen African Cup of Nations tournaments, over six FIFA world cup competitions and a good number of qualifiers with the Cameroon national selection, says his tour is not only an added touch of class to the event, but a means to mobilise the population to rally behind the Intermediate Lions for ultimate victory.
