The Microsoft 70-535 certification exam covers six different skills. These include designing a computer infrastructure (20-25%); designing data implementation (15%-20%); designing networking implementation (15%-20%); designing security & identity solutions (20%-25%); designing solutions using platform services (10%-15%); designing operations (10%-15%). Overview of Microsoft AZ-300 Exam

The Microsoft AZ-300: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies exam is designed for the Azure Solution Architects who recommend stakeholders and convert business requirements into scalable, reliable, and secure solutions. The candidates pursuing the certification should possess advanced knowledge and experience across different areas of IT operations, such as networking, identity, virtualization, business continuity, security, data management, governance, budgeting, and disaster recovery. The professionals writing this test should also be able to manage how decisions in specific area affect the overall solution. The examinees should be proficient in Azure development, DevOps, and Azure administration. They must also possess the expert-level knowledge and skills in a minimum of one of these domains.

Under this topic, the candidates should be able to analyze resource consumption and utilization; create and configure storage account; create and configure Virtual Machine for Linux and Windows; automate deployment of Virtual Machines; implement solutions that utilize the virtual machine; create connectivity between virtual networks; manage and implement virtual networking; manage and implement hybrid identities; and manage and Azure Active Directory.

  • Implementing Workloads & Security – 20%-25%

For this skill, the individuals are required to develop competence in migrating servers to Azure; configuring serverless computing; implementing application load balancing; managing role based access control; integrating on-premise network with the Azure virtual network; and implementing multi-factor authentication.

  • Creating & Deploying Apps – 5%-10%

This skill covers two core tasks that the students should develop competence in. These are creating web apps using PaaS and designing and developing apps that run in the containers.

  • Implementing Secure Data Solutions &Authentication – 5%-10%

This skill covers implementing authentication and implementing secure data solutions.

  • Developing Cloud and Azure Storage – 20%-25%

The applicants should be able to develop solutions that utilize Cosmos DB storage; develop solutions that utilize relational database; configure message-based integration architecture; and develop for auto scaling.

Overview of Microsoft AZ-301 Exam

This is the second exam that replacedthe Microsoft 70-535 certification test. The skills and knowledge required for Microsoft AZ-301 is the same as Microsoft AZ-300. However, it is available in a variety of languages, including English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified). Skills measured are also different. These include determining workload requirements; designing data platform solutions; designing for security and identity; designing for deployment; designing an infrastructure strategy; designing a business continuity strategy; etc.

  • Determining Workload Requirements – 10%-15%

This covers gathering information and requirements; designing an auditing and monitoring a strategy; and optimizing a consumption strategy.

  • Designing for Identity & Security – 20%-25%

This domain covers designing identity management; designing authentication; designing authorization; designing for risk prevention of identity; and designing monitoring strategy for security and identity.

  • Designing Data Platform Solutions – 15%-20%

Under this skill, the candidates must develop competence in designing a data management strategy; designing a data protection strategy; designing a monitoring strategy for data platform; and designing and documenting data flows.

  • Designinga Business Continuity Strategy – 15%-20%

The individuals are required to cover specific topics under this domain, and these include designing a site recovery strategy; designing for high availability; and designing a data archiving strategy.

  • Designing for Migration, Integration, and Migration – 10%-15%

This topic covers designing deployments; designing migrations; and designing an API integration strategy.

  • Designing an Infrastructure Strategy – 15%-20%
