Cameroon’s Commissioner Cecile Oyono becomes first Executive Secretary of APSTA

Police Commissioner Cecile Oyono now has the challenge of fostering the constructive resolution of disputes in African.

The directives were given to her by the chairman of APSTA Brigadier General James Pumzille Machakaire while commissioning her as the new Executive Secretary of the African Peace Support Trainers Association (APSTA).

The Deputy Director General of the International School for Security Forces, EIFORCES, the first women to hold the position, was described as competent and has a rich experience in the domain.

The installation ceremony was also occasion to express gratitude to President Paul Biya for constructing an ultramodern headquarters for the continental organisation in the Bastos neighbourhood in Yaounde.

APSTA seeks to facilitate the ability of peace support training centres to dialogue with each other and to exchange best practices.

The Minister delegates in charge of relations with the Commonwealth in the ministry of external relations, Felix Mbayu symbolically handed over the keys to the building and the Minister delegate at the presidency in charge of Defence unveiled the logo of institution with APSTA representatives.

The event was crowned with the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the Ministry of External Relations. The Memorandum of understanding institutes the headquarters of the continental body in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde.
