Cameroon judo girls train for gold 

The female judo team is intensify training ahead of the 2019 All Africa Games to hold in Rabat Egypt.

Ten of the judo girls aged 14 to 36 are in camp in Yaounde training at different venues for the competition.

Five out of the ten have been selected to represent Cameroon in the female category of the judo game.

The judokas will represent Cameroon in five different categories; 48kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg and +78kg categories.

The team trains two to three times daily and the sessions are being reduced to one daily as the competition day approaches.

The head coach for the female judo team Donna Ngo Batang says these last training sessions are oriented towards improving on individual tactical skills.

She says it is important for the girls to stay on a healthy diet and also rest well in order to be in shape for the games.

Donna Ngo the team coach routes for her girls with certainty that they will win medals for team Cameroon.

Helen Wezeu participating in the 63kg category will be defending her tittle in Egypt as the 2015 gold medallist of the All Africa Games.

Mballa Vanessa, 78kg+ category is 2019 champion meanwhile Arrey Sophina 70kg is bronze medallist of the 2019 Africa judo games.

The team will travel to Egypt before 16th August 2019 as Judo is one of the disciplines opening the 2019 All Africa Games in Rabat.
